Work that You Love is No More than Serious Play

Nine folio sheets printed on one side, folded in quarto, making 20 pages of “text” and four broadsides. This is a showing of all our display types (and a few ornaments), while the 4 broadsides display almost all of our wood types. There is a 1-page introduction, an abstract frontispiece, and a few notes on some of the 95 or so types shown. The text was written in the stick to fit the measure: sometimes it names or describes the type, other times it’s just goofing. The paper is Arches, there are only 26 copies, each lettered and signed. Housed in a drop-leaf cloth-covered portfolio with custom design based on an abstract wood type print reading “Poltroon Press Berkeley”
